The History of Indigenous Peoples in Rideau Lakes: An Archaeological Approach
Saturday, June 21, 2025 | 7:00 PM
Newboro Community Hall | 15 Drummond Street, Newboro, Ontario
This new exhibition, researched and written by archaeological technician Ted Stewart, brings forward the deep and enduring Indigenous presence in the Rideau Lakes region—spanning over 10,000 years. Through archaeological findings and regional insights, this exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on histories that have long been overlooked and to engage in meaningful community dialogue.
The evening will feature a one-hour talk by Ted Stewart, beginning promptly at 7:00 PM, followed by a chance to view the exhibition and connect with others.
The exhibition will remain at Newboro Community Hall until August 15, then move to the Newboro Blockhouse for Doors Open Rideau Lakes Weekend (August 16–17, 2025).
